Marvel & Albi Size Comparison
I took these pictures of Marvel and Albi yesterday.
And here's a comparison of the two:
Albi is right at 4 1/2 inches. I'm not sure about his weight. Need to get a scale for them. I couldn't measure Marvel.. he's still too skittish!
Obviously, Albi has definitely outgrown Albi. Marvel hasn't been much of an eater until recently, but even now he doesn't eat as much as Albi. We had originally house them together when we first brought them home. They were about the same size, and being a newbie to Leos, I thought it would be okay to put them together since they were just babies. Afterall, they were all in the same tank at Petco. I was wrong.
It had been almost 2 weeks and I had seen an increase in Albi's size, but Marvel hadn't grown any. He was really skinny.. he definitely had lost some weight. After researching, I decided I better separate them to see if that helped. Another week passed and Marvel had not defecated. I never saw him eat. I decided to try to feed him a slurry. After a few days on a baby food diet, he finally was ready to eat some mealies on his own. The next day I found some poopy. Yay Marvel! Everyday I'm feeding him all that he will eat, and he's starting to gain some weight back. I give him a waxworm occasionally to help fatten him up. I want his tail to be a plump as Albi's -- he's such a pig!

Marvel & Albi's Home Coming (03/30/12)
This is Marvel the day we brought him home. A new Petco opened up in the area and was having a Grand Opening sale. A really good sale. We got Marvel for only $15, along with the Zilla 10 gallon desert tank kit for $38. We took him home and "marveled" how cute he was... and how skittish he was.
Obviously, we had not done all our research.. because we ended up going back to look for another leo. We only saw two left in the cage. An employee opened up the cage and showed us how they were all hiding under the repticarpet, then he pointed out how cool the albino one was. We were like "OMG! Put him in a box, 'cause we want him!" We were so excited. We bought a 20 gallon tank to put them both in, and then we took our second itty bitty bundle of cold-blooded joy home.
Albi, the Albino. You would think his name came from "Albino", but actually, its from Flight of the Concords. It can work both ways, though! :)
